Springfield Recreation Department to Host Atlantic City Casino Bus Trip this Summer

The Springfield Recreation Department is excited to announce that we will be traveling down the Garden State Parkway to Resorts Casino in Atlantic City on Wednesday, July 17, 2024! Resorts Casino is on the boardwalk and close to the outlets! The trip costs $45 and includes round-trip air-conditioned coach bus transportation and $10 slot play. The trip is open to Springfield and Mountainside residents age 55+, and members of the Springfield Senior Citizens Club. Seats are limited, and are first-come first-served with paid registration.

On April 8th, the Township of Springfield proclaimed the 1st week in May as Youth Week

Geri Ann Kazimar accepted the proclamation on behalf of Exalted Ruler Sandra Lyna from Deputy Mayor Harris Laufer.  Geri spoke about a Drug Awareness Event that will be held Tuesday, April 30th at the Springfield Hillside Elks Lodge.  Barbara Ziobro will take charge and have pizza, speakers and give aways to bring the kids in to hear this important message.  All children in 6th - 12th grades are encouraged to attend.

Sweet Samantha Baking & Decorating Classes Start Soon at Chisholm

Children ages 5-12 are invited to join Sweet Samantha for seven weeks of baking and cake/cupcake/cookie decorating classes! A new Spring season of creative and tasty projects starts soon! The popular classes are hosted by the Springfield Recreation Department and held at the Chisholm Community Center (100 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield). Minimum enrollment is needed for the following classes to run, so please register early.

Chisholm to Host Little Wonders Workshop for Ages 2-5

Children ages 2 1/2 to 5 and their caregivers are invited to join Little Wonders Workshop new this spring at the Chisholm Community Center in partnership with the Springfield Recreation Department. We'll explore a new science topic each week with experiments and crafts, story time, and sensory bins. Friday morning and Saturday morning classes are available.
