Used Sneaker Drive at Chisholm and Peak

Local organization CMC 15 Inc. is holding a used sneaker drive to promote the recycling and reusing of sneakers, as well as to raise money for its charitable efforts. The Springfield community is asked to drop off used athletic sneakers during open hours at the Chisholm Community Center, where a marked bin has been placed in the rear lobby. Peak Sports Academy in Mountainside serves an additional drop-off location. CMC 15 Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in memory of Connor P.

Coach Clinic Offered Virtually by Recreation Department on September 12

New youth sports coaches are invited to attend a S.A.F.E.T.Y. Coach Clinic, sponsored by the Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council -- a requirement for volunteering in Springfield's youth sports programs. The clinic will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 6:00-9:00 pm, and costs $40 per resident ($45 per non-resident). It will be held virtually. Attendees should be prepared to log in from an off-site computer. Virtual attendance will be confirmed by Springfield Recreation Department staff.

Springfield Community Pool Announces August Activities

The Summit Area YMCA -- operator of the Springfield Community Pool -- has announced a full calendar of events for the month of August! Zumba for Adults Continues in August at Chisholm

The August session of Zumba with Amy Lauren starts THIS WEEK! Classes for adults are held on Wednesdays @ 7:00-8:00 pm and Saturdays @ 10:30-11:30 am at the Chisholm Community Center (2nd floor fitness studio) in Springfield, hosted by the Springfield Recreation Department. Healthy Kids Day at Pool on July 22nd

The Summit Area YMCA - operator of the Springfield Community Pool - is hosting Healthy Kids Day at the pool (44 Morrison Road) this Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. The rain date is Sunday, July 23, 2023. The event is free and open to all Springfield residents regardless of pool membership. The event will include: swimming, music, arts and crafts, pickleball, contests, finger printing, bingo, aqua fitness, vendors, and more! All ages are welcome. Softball Clinics for K-2nd Graders in Fall 2023
