Wind Creek Casino Bus Trip in October Scheduled by Recreation Department

Spend the day with friends at Wind Creek Casino (formerly Sands Casino) in Bethlehem, PA, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, on a Springfield Recreation Department bus trip for township residents and members of the Springfield Senior Citizens Club. Wind Creek Casino is home to table and slot gambling, outlet mall, and numerous unique dining options. The cost is $20 per person. The trip includes: round-trip township bus transportation, chaperone, and breakfast treat. Photo ID is required. The bus leaves from the Chisholm Community Center at 9:30 am and returns at approximately 5:30 pm.

Chisholm Blood Drive on September 8 - Free Beverage Voucher

Blood donors needed! On Friday, September 8, 2023, a blood drive will be held at the Chisholm Community Center (100 South Springfield Avenue), from 1:30-7:30 pm, sponsored by the New York Blood Center-New Jersey Blood Services and hosted by the Springfield Recreation Department. Celebration of the U.S. Constitution on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10:30 am in the Library’s Palmer Museum

The Church and Cannon Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Springfield Free Public Library are pleased to be hosting a celebration of the U.S. Constitution on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10:30 am in the Library’s Palmer Museum.

 

In honor of Constitution Week, children will enjoy learning about the oldest written Constitution still in use today. Join the DAR and the Library for a book walk, trivia game, colonial craft, and a bell-ringing ceremony.

On September 9, bring your beloved but broken items to be repaired to Summit’s Repair Cafe from 11:00am-3:00pm at Christ Church, 561 Springfield Avenue. The last items accepted for repair will be at 2:30pm.

 

Repair services available at this event will include sewing/textiles, lamps, clocks, woodworking, jewelry, computers, knife sharpening, electronics and bicycles. To allow all patrons to have the opportunity for repair, repairs are limited to 2 total items per person and 1 jewelry item per person.
